As demonstrated by a handful of high-profile deals over the past year (Carlsberg/Barclays Premier League, Wells Fargo/MLS, Mondelez/US. Soccer, etc.), soccer is increasingly becoming the marketing platform of choice for global and domestic companies.

“The sport of soccer is at a tipping point in our eyes and is going to explode,” Stephen Chriss, Mondelez North America’s senior director of consumer engagement and marketing services, recently told The New York Times.
