	Safeway Barbecue Battle XVIII, one of the Mid-Atlantic area's largest food and music festivals, plays host to over 100,000 barbecue-loving consumers each year at the, start of summer season. The Barbecue Battle features an exciting array of unique interactive traveling marketing exhibits from companies such as The NBA, Best Buy, GMC, Johnson & Johnson, P&G, Kraft and others. Other features include extensive in-store products marketing promotions, The Safeway Sampling Pavilion, 7 Music & Demonstration Stages with celebrity chefs and national artists performing rock, R&B, jazz and blues. National, international and regional Media Coverage including Good Morning America, The Weather Channel, Fox, ABC, NBC CBS and others. The event is also home to the official National Barbecue Championship with over $40,000 in cash & prizes going to top barbecue competitors from around the country.
