IEG Sponsorship Report!
As you can tell, we have made some major changes to the sponsorship industry’s most relied-upon source for information, news and analysis. I am very excited about these changes and would like to explain the important differences and improvements we have made to the way we will be providing you with information going forward.
IEG SR is now a completely online, digital publication. This transition enables us to deliver the content you need in a much more lively, timely and user-friendly way than ever before. There is much for you to experience, but here are
the top 10 things you should know about the new IEG SR.
- Pages (the paper kind) are a thing of the past. Beginning immediately, we have practically limitless space to provide you with a wide variety of content—much more than ever before. This opens up the opportunity for more types of articles—both shorter “news you can use” and longer thought-leadership pieces from our editorial team—as well as contributions from guest columnists and shared content with other information providers.
- Fresher content. If we have information to share, you won’t have to wait days or weeks to receive it; we will post stories and other news items ASAP, so you will want to get in the habit of checking IEGSR.com on a regular basis. We will send you email alerts every Monday to remind you of new content, and you can also follow us on Twitter (@IEGSR) for more immediate updates.
- Pictures! Instead of describing a sponsorship activation, you will be able to see it for yourself. When the occasion calls for it, we will share video clips, too.
- Personalized. We have made it easy for you to find the information most relevant to you by categorizing all of our content by topic (activation, selling, results, etc.); by sponsor industry (automotive, beverages, telecommunications, etc.); and by property type (sports, arts, associations, etc.).
- Prioritized. You can even customize a menu of “quick links” directing you straight to the categories most important to you, plus tailor your new-content email notifications so you can quickly see what’s most relevant.
- Printer-friendly. For those articles you want to have on paper, we have made it easy to print each one along with any accompanying pictures, charts, tables, etc. Every article is printer-ready, just click on the “Print” icon at the bottom of each story or simply use your browser’s print function as you do for other documents.
- Enhanced search. IEGSR.com’s search function now includes results not only from our story database, but relevant news from other sources, including industry press releases and blogs from our IEG colleagues at Sponsorship.com.
- Conversation and community. Each IEG SR article includes social media tools, including comment boxes and the ability to share information. You will also be able to see which stories are most popular with your peers.
- More to come. The digital realm allows us to keep adding and innovating to improve our content and your experience with it. We’ve only just begun. Look for our mobile-friendly version to launch soon, enabling you to easily see all of our information on your Web-enabled mobile device.
